Checking Access for Remote Page Displays

This page is for finding issues with access to remote pages (usually Google Drive documents) displayed within this site using the Display remote web page section/paragraph type. Some remote pages may intentionally have access restricted (either to SNF staff only or to SUNet only), but most should be accessible when not logged in. So, remember to log out or use an private brower window when testing for access problems affecting the general public.

Remote pages that are on unpublished pages/nodes will not appear in this list.

It appears that documents that have been done correctly from documents on Google drive have that light blue header & notice about updating every 5 minutes. Ones that are readable but have a note about being “Published by Google Sheets" (or Google Docs) appear not to have been done the standard way, and it should be double checked that they are actually on the Shared Google Drive in the expected folders. Of the rest, ones that have a “Sign in” button prominently need to be investigated. Ones that are blank may show up if you’re logged in (and may or may not be restricted on purpose), but in either case should be investigated. Some that are blank may just not be set up correctly (such as at least one that seems to want to show a video but is using the display remote page section type instead of the video section type).
